Default 17" x 5.5" solid rear wheel for FXDB?

Street chopper did a dyna build a while back and they used a custom chrome solid black smoothie wheel 17" x 5.5" and ran a Pirelli night dragon tire 180/60/17.

Browsing through the 2013 custom chrome online catalogue they don't seem to offer the 17" x 5.5" size. I want this size rather than the 6.25" width because I want to run a 180mm tire.

Is this wheel still available anywhere?

Thanks

That's a real shame.... I really love the look of that solid black wheel.

Never have seen a 17x5.5 wheel. It is usually an 18x5.5. 17 is a wheel size that does not have a lot of options in my experience. There is much more tire availability for an 18" wheel.

scroll down to the bottom of this page and you will see the 17" X 5.5" solid black rear wheel they used from CC.....

Personally, I dont like the look of the 18" wheel with the lower profile tire on, to me the 17" with the taller profile tire looks just right for the back end of a streetbob. I know I can get this size wheel in spokes, but I really love the look of that black solid wheel.

Me too,
I'm thinking about getting mag rims but don't want to go to a 16" on the rear because I have a set of 13.5" Ohlin shocks.

There are plenty of 19" fronts I'd be happy staying with 19" on the front but what is there in 17" or possibly 18" for the rear?

I think it was an 18"x 5.5 from memory, not a 17"

Im not 100% sure but i think a 16" wheel will have a taller profile tire so it shouldnt affect your suspension too much.

Not sure exactly what mag rims you are looking for, but the solid rear smoothie wheels I am talking about come in 17"x6.25" and 18"x5.5" I want to run a 180 tire so the 17 wheel is too wide. The width of the 18" rim is perfect for a 180 but the larger diameter wheel and the low profile tire just doesn't look right on a street bob to me personally.
