Does anyone have any infoabout the Vance and Hines Fuel pak for 06 Dyna's ? I have a 06 wideglide with the center plug knocked outof the muffler, And want to put a k&n filter on also. I was told that I need a power commander or some kind of fuel management device to compansate for the air and exhaust. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I've read some good info on this forum.
I am currently running the Fuel Pak and if I had to do it again I might go with something else.
1.) Installation of the fuel pak is next to impossible, no fudge'n way that think was meant to fit under the seat.
2.) V & H tech support sucks. If you got problem....Good Luck.
3.) Won't except other engine mods. I knew this going in and thought I wouldn't need engine mods. but I'm already planning for next winter and more HP is on the list.
I don't what the best fueler is and I'm torn between the sert and the PC3. You could do a search and probably find 3 days worth of reading on this topic. You get what you pay for and the Fuel Pak is limited.
Thanks for the fast reply. I don't plan to do any major mods just exhaust and an air filter. I have a 97 Electra glide standard That I've done minor mods to. I'm just looking to see what my options are. Thanks again.
I've got a Cobra FI2000CL (Closed Loop) that I'm very happy with. It has three pots that you adjust with a pocket screwdriver per your modification requirements. No more computer downloads; gets the dealer out of your pocket. The closed loop version retains your O2 sensors, utilizes factory friendly connector plugsand does'nt void your factory warranty. Mine was $249.95
I'm new to the forum ,but have been reading them for awhile. I just want to be able to modify the bike enough so it will make some noise and sound like a Harley. I have a K&n filter on my other bike and trucks and it seems to have helped them. Any more info is welcome.
I've read a few reviews of the fuelpak now and none of them were very good. I've been running a Powercommander and it's performed flawlessly. Just about anyone with the SERT will tell you the same about it. A well tuned PC or SERT seems to be the clear way to go.
I don't know much about the Fuel Pak as I have a PCIII. I like it because of the versitility of the product. My dealer said it does not void the warrenty?! However, I did have to cut one plastic bracket to make it fit. I was reluctant but after I did it, there were no ill effects and the PCIII fits perfect. All I do is remove my seat and the PCIII is sitting right there. I'll try to post a picture. (I also tie wrapped the wires to make sure they did not contact therear pipe?) If you like the Fuel Pak, you may be able to do the same thing?
