so im slightly confused , what do i have to order to extend my front forks? WG upper tubes? and then what i combine them with my stock lowers? im relativly new to bikesbut capable i worked on cars before this but they get me into trouble.i do need this bike to maintain its stability at high speeds though because i do tend to travel around 100mph range often, (ya kinda have to in Detroit to stay ahead of the people doing 90 on their cell phones).

Stewart have you used those brackets to lower your rear end of your bike? kinda seems a waste to toss fairly new struts so the bracket idea is decent if an inch gives a nice look and maintains good rideability, otherwise the progressive struts seem nice but i havent seen a few different prices anywhere from 150 - over 300 for these shocks. alot of these bike shop sites seem shotty.

whats the best shop site to buy struts off of, i want it lowered in back but i dont want any wheel rub and i do plan on getting the wider 180mm reat tire as well. i was thinking going with the progressive suspension struts. someone suggested the progressive 412s 11 inch shocks. how much would that lower the rear? and how much do they or should they cost?

DEFINITELY avoid the brackets as suggested. I know some others disagree but you change the angle and the magnitude of forces on the mounts when you change the angle like that. The brackets I've seen lay the shocks at an shallower angle. This means that for the same force on the rear tire (same weight rider, same bump, etc) you have MORE force pushing the swingarm away from the frame. The swingarm mounts to the transmission that is mounted to the engine which is rubber mounted to the frame. Also, upper shock mounts will see increased loads and will see them at a different angle than was designed. There have been cases of broken upper shock mounts onstock 06 Dynas. This israre, I'm just sayingthat making changes is a REAL risk. Some things are so overdesigned thatyou could get away with it, but that isn't the case here.

Alright, sorry for the rant. You'll get dozens of recommendations from happy Progressive users here and the 412's are available in different lengths and are available in both chrome and black. And they aren't that expensive either, less than $200. 11" is as low as you want to go. I run the 180 and it is fine but I wouldn't go any lower. Of course, ride quality will suffer with the reduced travel and increased spring rate. The progressive nature of the springs helps, but with such short springs, it's unavoidable . . they hit pretty hard.

okie so im ordering the progressive 412s 11inchers , im wondering without lowering the front to will this effect the riide of my bike? i would think no much although i know my pipes are gonna scrapebut ive been thinking of haven em chopped and powder coated black anyhow cus they always scrape when i dip a hard right. .. ive been lookin into the springer front end, i love it and its one of those things i know im must have on the bike sooner but by the sound of the cost its gonna prolly have to be later.

Yeah bax, WG fork pipes, and yourstock sliders.

You also need the WG springs, and bottom pipe.
And dust seal and oil seal and O-ring for each side.the cheap part.
