After doing all the research I've come to the conclusion its just not worth spending an extra $130 for a rear tire just to get an extra 3/4 inch more in width.
When I trick out the bike down the road I'll get another wheel and get an even wider tire.
Since we can be funny now, maybe you shoud try riding on the sides of the tire and not in the middle or center, how ever you see it. i got 10,000 out of the first one. Buy what you want, i know what my next tire will be.
For what its worth i wont ride on anything other than michellin, put them on a bike years ago and loved them, now i put them on everything i build, from race to cruising
i got a set of gt502's for this season. hopefully they are good tires. i only got 6000 kilometers out of my avons. i put em on at the end of august and they were bald by october.
the avons are nice and sticky tho. great in the corners. i hope the 502's will be as good.
