ORIGINAL: EVOrider

I use to use a 4X6 with eyebolts in the end. Roll the front tire in the center of the board and strap it down to the eyebolts. I also had a ramp in the center of the board where the bike would not roll forward or backwards. Thiskeeps the bike upright, tight, and secure. This was many years ago and worked quiet well. It is cheap and so easy to make too. I even still have it after many years and still use it when the lift is occupied by another bike.

Let me know if someone is interested and I would take pictures with a bike utilizing it.
I'd love to see some pics of your 'stand'.

I was thinking about making a wheel chuck stand out of 2x4 that would adjust to fit either the front or the rear wheel and not need tie downs, but your idea does seem a bit more simple.

I just leave it on the jiffy stand. Cheap and easy.

I found an oil drain pan that justs holds six Quarts. It is not too tall and fits just perfectly under the bike. I have a lift but don't use it unless I need too raise the wheels off the ground. ( Makes it easier to clean the wheels.

I've parked mine in the garage doorway with a ratchet strap coming off each side of the front-end and hooked to the door tracks. Worked good.

I used the jack and it worked fine. The only problem was getting something in there to catch the oil when I took off the oil filter.

Cut a piece of cardboard just about 10" long and wide enough to wedge under the oil filter. Wrap it with tinfoil but leave and extra 1/2" or so overhanging the sides. Then bend up the sides to keep the oil from running off to the side.

With the bike back on the jiffy stand, loosen your filter, wedge this into place (angling down towrards the front wheel with the oil pan in place to catch the oil) and remove your filter. All the oil should reach the pan.

I believe they also sell something made from plastic for this too.

Necessity is the mother of invention. I use a low drain pan, newspapers, speedy-dry and just the jiffy stand.[8D]
