I have the NEW version on my 2013 and it been great, I had some slight popping still and contacted V&H and they suggested I used a different map and have had 0 popping and it is noticeably better running.
Notice I said I have the new version, so will this be the same for a pre2013 I can not say.

I will order the latest and greatest model they have.
The fuel pak gets mixed reviews...some love it, some hate it. Others will chime in and say power vision...probably overkill based on ur lack of planned upgrades. I chose the micro tuner from fuel moto. U may want to check it out. More budget friendly than the pak, and the support u get from fuel moto is pretty awesome. I had no plans for more than stage 1, they recommended the micro, and it is spot on and performs great.
Before you order the fuelpack call FuelMoto. They have a new tuner called the Micro Tuner that some members have added and love them. Fuel Moto customer service is much better to work with.
Micro tuner, FuelPak, SuperChip, Xieds They will all work for you. I have had the FuelPak for quite a while. Stage 1 with SE255 cams. Bike runs great, no pinging or popping.
No complaints, V & H have been good to me. I would do the same thing all over if I had to.
+1 on the fuel pack. That is what I'm running and I love it. I also don't plan on doing any engine mods at least until I get my bike paid off that's why I went that route over a more expensive option.
Personally I wouldn't do it. I had one on my Sportster and it was good for two months and then it crapped out. Called Vance and Hines and talked to one of their techs and he had me putting in different numbers in the control module, but nothing seemed to work and they never offered to replace it. In my opinion go with the SEPST from HD like I did, no more decel popping and the bike runs great. Yeah it cost a little more, but you generally get what you pay for.
PM A/C, and Short Shots (baffles removed) on my 2010 Bob, with the fuel Pak. Took 10 min. to program and it runs like a champ. no decel pop, running perfectly.
