Ok, so I finally put the new Samsons on the SG this weekend and was riding around the area checking them out when some dumbass talking on a cell phone rolled through the stop sign at a side road, looked right at me, and then proceeds to roll out right in front of me! I hit the back and then front brakes, the horn, and when the rear wheel locked up and the rear end started around, and I was just about at the decision point of whether to put it down or hit broadside, I ended up with enough room to go around behind the asswipe. Scary ****!
Now, we all know that we are invisible on the road, but DAMN, these new pipes are loud and the headlight is bright...but this horn sounds like a child's bicycle toy! I searched all the threads and there are a lot of good ones on replacing horns but I really could not find one on loud horns that will work with the OEM cowbell. Anyone have any ideas on this?
If you're like me you want a horn that sounds deep and loud, like a semi or train. I searched high and low for a horn and all I found were loud obnoxious high pitched euro horns. Not my cup of tea. I went with the Big Bad Max horn from wolo. It has a deep long blast that scares the **** outta people. I love mine. I dont have a vid I can post, but I could make one if you want. The sample clip they have is kinda like it, but its more deep and loud in person. I highly, HIGHLY recommend it. http://www.wolo-mfg.com/air.htm
If you get a combo 500/440 hz trumpet horns, it will not sound like what you described. Size is same as oem, you can replace the stock one and hide one somewhere.
I am the other way around, can't stand for air horn lol. Just my $0.02

Yeah the one from wolo isn't the same size, its big bigger. You have to take you exsisting horn off and bolt it on there. It looks pretty good, I took all the stickers off so its just an all black looking spiral. I'll post some pics when I get home and a vid, for future reference. But yeah, different horns for different tastes
I read through it seems like 50 or so comments I found on searches on different horns and listened to a few audio/video clips, and there are a few that definitely would work to get these dumbass cager's attention, but I guess I am just old-school and I like to keep things looking as original as possible. The cowbell just says Harley Davidson and I really wanted to keep that look but I gotta do something about this whimpy horn.
A chrome Wolo looks Ok and is a good option if there is nothing available that puts out serious db and fits under the cowbell.
