oil change issue

oil change issue

so i have run into an issue changing the oil on my '11 fxdb. the rubber bumper or whatever that keeps the kickstand from banging on the frame is in a spot where I can't fit a ratchet in there. i know I can use a regular open wrench, but is there a way to pull that bumper off and then put it back on?

I take mine off every time I jack up my bike or change the oil. Just take note of the position its in.

To remove mine I just twist on it while pulling. If I forget to remove it it will usually pop off when I try to jack up my bike

cool, thanks man. last time i forgot to tighten the plug down after changing the oil. lost the plug, the oil and got a real nice burn on my forearm leaning against the exhaust cleaning up the oil. got it tattooed over as a reminder.

Ouch! I cringe every time I see some idiot riding in cutoffs. I never fudge on wearing boots and pants, everything else optional. Don't get carried away when tightening up that drain plug :-) Ride safe
