Angry A Gripping problem

Ok, bought new grips, hd get a grip or the bike. Read all the instructions, watch the video. Seems very straight forward. Remove old throttle grip, so far easy. Put new grip on still easy. Tighten everything up throttle will not return to position. Take it apart apply som grease to throttle cables look it over reassemble, adjust throttle still sticks. Take it back apart apart look it over. Can't see any issues. Put it back together and adjust everything sticks. Now I'm getting pi$$ed. Take it apart put old throttle on adjust every thing, works fine. WTH? Any ideas what is wrong? New throttle looks fine.

Give the throttle lock a twist underneath. My guess is the grip are a different size so the throttle lock is catching on the new grips. Try that out because, there really isn't a whole lot else going on in that area...

When you tighten the box with all the switches on it down on the bars, don't have it as far as you can to the left.

Leave a little slack for the handle to spin freely away from the end of the bar.

Good Ideas my first guess was the same as dynamite. The new grip may be slightly thicker for your old lock setting.
_GIR_ there's not really a choice as the throttle cables need to be inside the housing.

I think Gir is suggesting moving the throttle housing to the right a bit in case the Get-a-Grips are slightly shorter than stock - catching on the end of the bars.

Thanks for all the help. I thought I had the throttle lock all the way out, but will check it when I try again. It did seem slightly shorter. Did not bind until I tighten the housing.

Ok, went out this evening and tried again. Success, needed to move the brake assembly 1/8 inch right. No longer binding.
