It can be done real easy. Mrs Spanners has a skinny white *** and so needs a comfy seat for long rides. I was using an old Electra Glide seat but it makes the bike look like a freak.
I grabbed a brand new 2011 RK seat for 107 bucks, cut one little hole underneath at the front and it fitted!
Could fit better on the tank but I will work on that when the man-flu has gone away.

Where did you cut the hole & for what purpose?
Could you not push the seat a bit backward or would that have involved a lot more modifications?

On the RK the seat mount at the front goes into the seat base, on a 1999 Dyna there is a square metal loop on the frame for the seat lug (which is attached to the seat base) to fit into....this got in the way and prevented the seat from sitting on the frame at the front so I cut a hole which allowed the loop to sit inside the seat base.
Couldn't move it back as the seat has to sit into the frame in front of the rear fender.
The rear mounting hole lines up perfectly with the bracket

Thank for clarifying. Found any solution for the extra frontage of the seat?
