The Cycle Visions Eliminator is a great piece, but I gotta say I never exactly felt safe with it, not enough light back there, especially the turn signals. I could only dig up an old pic of it installed on the bike (I had my plate holes welded shut when I installed it):
I always thought it looked awesome, but for the sake of safety, I decided to brighten up the rear of the bike. I picked up a tail light from Radiantz, a great bike gear relocation kit, and some DOT style turn signals from Dennis Kirk. I also grabbed some Radiantz turn signal inserts and a Badlands Run/Turn/Brake module so all three lights work as brake and run. Went ahead and put amber LED inserts on the front so it all matches.
Here is the rear fender drilled back out so I could mount it:
Here is the setup fully installed, off and on running mode:
Super bright now, hopefully that gives cagers a damn clue.
good choice - i think it looks better and those radiantz should keep the cagers off your ***. my buddy was driving behind me one day and thought my brake light was on all the time, until I actually used the break. they're BRIGHT!
^ Good plan. The brighter the better your chances of being seen. Hopefully you never have to find out if your lights were bright 'enough'...
I swear we could be riding two up with a lion and still wouldn't be seen by some people...
Looks good
Bright flashing lights, straight pipes even air horn wont help but it might give you piece of mind. People just dont care or pay attention. Defensive riding is your Best ally.
Yeah, another benefit is when I'm riding with a group of bros and riding lead, I no longer have to hand signal them they can follow the signals clearly
I like the after better too. Maybe it's just the picture, but in the before shot that thing looks huge. Being seen is a major plus these days though...
