had a bike before and have had my fxdc for a month. On the way into work yesterday and guess I got a little overzealous and scraped the left side peg, woke me up in a hurry, lol.
Then on the way home I was coming down the road and I was watching car pulling out of the gas station half expecting them to pull out. When I was satisfied they were staying put, THEY PULLED OUT !!
Had to lock it up ( NO ABS ) bike slid straight forward but frame was angled. Was a thing of beauty, amazingly my heart never raced.
Ha! There comes a time in a mans life when a certain part of your bike drops lower, and with that comes a lot of new thrills and experiences. Experiences while enjoyable, need to be treated safe as well...
To quote a quote "If you're not sparkin, you're parkin"
Get out there and grind some pegs!
Nothing like a scrape every now and again to keep you awake lol. One of the parts guys at the dealership, his old sportster was ground down past the metal bar and started eating rubber on both pegs. Apparently he rode "aggressive"
I used to scrape the pegs on my first bike, a Honda Shadow. Didnt bother me too much. Now on my Fat Bob, for whatever reason it's my HEELS that touch down first. Not a pleasant experience when your boot suddenly skips backwards! Nowadays I point my toes a bit when cornering aggressively, haha.
Ok, call me a newb in this area but I have an honest question for those of you who have dragged parts. Ive never gotten that low out of fear of low siding. I also feel that if you are dragging a peg, it could potentially dig into the asphalt.
