I installed Wild1 Chubbies 16" apes and 6" wastoo short. I went 10" over for clutch, throttle, idle.9would probably have worked fine too. Front brake was 52". Used the Ebony series from J&P. Bled it with a Mityvac. Worked great. I used the 8" wiring extension from J&P with the ends already installed. Makes it easy and fun. The connectors were a snap to take apart. There was plenty of slack.
Have ridden a few hundred miles with them and they are great! Only 6" higher but several inches wider.
Great article just wish I would have found this before I was half way thru my apes
I didn't know if there was going to be oil in the clutch cable cover now I know
The vacuum brake bleeder that they sell at Sears works great for bleeding brakes just hook it on the bleeder and keep the master cylinder full as you pump the vacuum pump.
Puttin16 inch apes on my 07 softail standard
