I appreciate the positive comments. I started this thread over a year ago while putting bars on my fxdbi. I never ran across a thread that was comprehensive enough to make me feel real good about doing the work. I read hundreds and hundreds of threads and felt like I had enough information to do the job myself. It went very well and I saved a lot of money. I hope that this thread has provided the same for some of you.
Great post...I will be tackling this mod as soon as I get all the pieces... Got a question for you...When removing the trans. cover for the clutch cable...Is it recommended to get a new gasket?? I only have a few thousand miles, but I want to be prepared with everything I need before I rip it all apart and don't want any unexpected leaks...
Damn nice post! Great detailed photo's. I did pretty much the same thing on my Street bob except I splised and soldered and heat shrinked everywire to add 8" to the length and left the fuel tank alone. I ran all the wires up thru the handle bars as well. It was alot of work and took approx 6 hours to complete the entire process but it was well worth it. The bike looks bigger just from the bars and they really fit the profile of the bike now other than the stock 10's mini apes. Since I did mine a buddy of mine bought all my stock hardware and I installed the stock tens on his Dyna street glide. I finished his in about 4 1/2 hours and now he is already saying he want to go and order the 13" apes. Geeze!!!!
great post, thank you for taking the time to do the post...
P.S. I wish it was a streetglide because I have no idea how to take the bars off....
Dont bash me guys about the manual...hehehe

Great post! I know the trouble you went through to put this information up with pictures. It is a lot of work! Thanks!
As for the break line bleeding, I was taught a little trick that worked like magic! Once you have your fluid in, you can tell you have air in the line when the lever feels soft. Use a belt or piece of rope and pull the lever tightly and tie it down. In a couple hours the air has left the brake line and made it's way to the reservoir! I have used this method a couple times. It is easy and works great!
Thanks alot for this post. I ran into a little trouble doing my install and posted some pics on a new thread, tomorrow I should be able to finish up my install 16s on 07 SB. I will put the new pics under this thread. Thanks thebestofindica.
