Default Question about useing oil

I have an 08 WideGlide bought it three weeks ago . It had 8,013 miles now 10,465 miles . It runs fine and had the oil changed when I bought it .

I check the oil every day I ride and it is always full . This week I took it to the dealer for a new clutch cable . When I got it back first thing I see is my gas is a lot less then it was ? I road 140 miles yesterday and this morning checked the oil (cold) and it was a little low ? This is the first time I have seen it low ? It was just off the add mark always in the middle until now .

What do you think happen ??

How much did you have to add to bring it back up to where it always was?

Guessing your dealership, after cable install, took your bike for a nice "hard" ride...:O

As long as level's between full & low mark + nothing's leaking = you're fine.

I did,t add much 1/3 Qt. at most . I always check oil cold and look for it to be in the Mid range on the stick . I will look at it again this morning and see if it is ok .
I really wish the WideGlide had an oil tank .

It does have an oil tank. Below the transmission (just havin some fun, I know what you mean).

The newer configuration is actually a better location for the oil tank than the older setups or softails, because the oil is lower than the crankcase, so it won`t leak back down to the cases when the bike sits.
