Today the brown truck brought me about 800 dollars worth of new equipment for my super glide.
I got stainless lines, clutch kit, and chrome speedo kit.
I also got the chrome dash console with chrome gas cap and the new chrome LED fuel guage. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to change the console out?
I am thinking I will do it in the morning pending how our snow storm turns out. Thanks everyone.
Im not sure of the year model of yours but they are fairly straight forward. Usually its just a matter of unbolting the old and bolting on the new. Well,... at least thats how it was on my 06 Superglide.
hughey,
if you dont mind me asking, what chrome speedo kit did you get...i just purchased a superglide and looking at chrome speedo but the dealer couldnt tell me for sure what i needed....
Thanks everyone. I got home this am from work and started the process. It took me about an hour and a half to take off the console and replace it, change out the chrome speedo, and put on the new chrome upper and lower belt guards.
The LED fuel guage is sweet and the hardest part was getting the connector undone until I found the clip part.
Also lining up the cap was different but overall I'd say it was easier and quicker than I thought it was going to be.
ccrete, I bought the standard chrome speedo kit that shows it fits the older dyna glides. I will see if I cant find the part number. Just have to disassemble the factory one and slide it in the new bracket. It is easy.
Here is the part. 67293-95 Fits '95-later XL883 models and '95-'04 FXD Super GlideÂŽ models equipped with single gauge.
MSRP US $91.95
One last thing for now is I guess I wasnt really impressed on the quality of the lower belt guard. It felt flimsy and cheap for the price.
I had to bend it out a little so it didnt run on the rear pulley.

I understand what your talking about on the issue of poor workmanship. I recently encountered a problem with a H-Dassessory part, but I guess thats what happens when the parts are made for Harley by the lowest bidder.
OK, if you are going to create posts which make me want more stuff to hide from the wife, ya gotta put some pics on here. I would love to see what you have done.
