Ok I know steering dampers have been brought up before but I didn't see the answer to what I'm looking For in A search
If I buy the mounts. Fork mount and frame mount. Say from storz for example (only cuz I know they have them for 2011 SB). Can I use them to mount any rod style damper that I but from eBay or something? I now I've seen people, like joe say they've done it. But I'm not sure what I'd have to look for to make sure a damper is compatible with the mounts. Anybody have any advise on this? Thanks
yes they should work fine on any cylinder style damper, as long as it does not have the resivor adjustment
i use the $100 ebay one, can swap this out for a hyperpro steering damper when i really want it, but to be honest i am pleased with the ebay unit, they also stand behind their product and replaced mine when the seal went bad... it is just real important as with any damper to be sure you line up the damper so it is strait though the full range of motion, shim it with washers if needed.
(ebay one from BK-Ryder *of course i powder coated the mounts*)
with the hyper pro damper installed into the mounts
Custom chrome has a steering damper. I was looking for one until my speed wobble magically disapeared. I tried the BK rider damper and didn't like the setup. I have a 2011 SB and had a wobble above 145 km/h http://www.customchromecatalog.com/2...l.asp?page=867

That's the Daytona one I think. I've heard those are pretty good too
