Stay away from the Wyatt kit or the very expensive eBay FXDP take offs, they sit your feet very high. The Switchback kit is a direct bolt on and a much better ergonomic solution. Full size foot boards give a lot of grip to your boots allowing you to relax your legs, your feet will not be blown off the boards.
I did mine before the Switchback was released, using Twin Cam era FL Softail assemblies with homemade adapter plate. They are further forward than the Switchback setup and are perfect for me (6'3").

I like the idea of forward controls, but the flat surface of a floorboard is a greater draw.

Anyone have experience with HD vs aftermarket?
I put the Harley (Switchback) foot boards on my '12 Wide Glide. It's an easy install.

The boards on my old FXRT were a little further back. Great if you wanted to stand on the boards going over railroad tracks, but I always needed to stretch out now and then.

The stock forward controls on the WG looked cool, but I missed being able to "ride the pegs" if needed. You just gotta sit there and take it on the rump.

The Harley kit is "just right", for me. A little more forward than the FXRT - a good "mid" position.

It all depends on your preferences.
