Default Question about cat removal.

My buddy just got a 2013 WG and does not want to change his pipes. He took the baffles out but it is still quiet. Does anybody know how to get the damn cat out short of cutting the pipe and re welding? Thanks

Don't know about removing the cat but the Fatbob head pipe is the same, if he can find one from an '08 it has no cat. I am not sure but maybe the '09's don't have it either but for sure the '10 and up have it. He would also have to get some adapters for the 02 sensors.

According to the parts catalogs, the 2008 & 2009 FXDF take part# 64984-08 head pipe, 2010 & 2011 FXDWG & FXDF uses a 64997-08A head pipe, and 2013 uses a 65600006 head pipe. The 2013 takes a different 02 sensor (wide band vs. narrow band(?) and different thread size) So, if you want to use the 2008-2009 FXDF head pipe on a 2013 FXDWG, you will have to change the O2 sensor bungs, not that big a deal. Removal of the converter from a head pipe is a REAL pain in the *** and you better be patient (or so I've heard) To cut the pipe and remove it is the way to go (or so I've heard)

If you have a power vision, this is his chance to go to full Auto Tune with the 18mm sensors...Get an older header and new 02s...
