After much reading, and looking around I have narrowed my exhaust choices down to three for my new Street Bob. It is between the Bassani Road Rage shorty, the D&D Fatcat, and the Samson Powerflow III. They all offer about the same look. Price difference is only about $100 with the Fatcat being more expensive. So those of you have experience with these three give me your thoughts. I am curious about performance, ease of installation, issues you had, customer service experiences etc. I am also interested in tendency to scrape while riding.
For looks alone, those choices are hard to beat. I wish more people would try out the Samson PF IIIs but not too many guys do - there is at least one around here(HDForum) and he had nothing but positive comments.
I run the 1D5250 Bassani RR and love the looks and sound but did have a fitment issue that
took Bassani about 5 weeks to resolve and deliver a proper bracket. No way you can scrape the 1D5250s unless you crash of course!
The Fat Cat has a great rep for performance and quality but of the 3 is my least favorite as far as looks but is still nice looking.
Yep power flow III is a great deal and performance, sound is spot on.
They are slightly upswept and have never scraped them. Black.
After three years I would buy again.
Easy to install. I purchased new HD gaskets, studs from the dealer.
New flanges with clips on ebay.
Took allot of weight off the bike with removing the stock exhaust and brackets.
I had to file flats on the two screws on the foward HD stock bracket and use an open end to remove them as there is no room.
I also have the Bassani Road Rage 1D5250. Great pipe, love the looks, sound and performance. I have had many people tell me they like the sound and look. Just remember if you go with this pipe, there are a few different models. Make sure you get the one you want.

One of the things that impressed me about the Fatcat was build quality. This pipe is beefy. They did the heat shields right, good welds and thick hose clamp tabs. Unlike some others....
