Thanks, Joe. A small part of me is regretting not buying the chrome version but the finish in black is pretty nice.

I'll say that on my test ride around town with them turned 1 full turn stiffer, it felt good. Solid. And I do have some crappy roads around here.
Hopefully I can get in some more miles this weekend.
Maybe a test ride to what the locals call the "Hawk's Nest":
It's located in Port Jervis, NY about a 45min ride from me.
Yes, they are the SD version. I don't know where you ordered your shocks from but my SO ordered them last Sunday or Monday night, and I had them in hand late friday night. Powersports Superstore on Amazon.
[EDIT] I should add: Progressive P/N: 444-4038B. Standard duty. Black.
444-4048b/c is HD version in either black or chrome
I ordered them from Direct Cycle Parts, Progressive 444-4036B, about $450, which should be the 12" length...same as stock length, may be why they are hard to find. Several other places I checked were also out and backordered.
I have had my chrome 444's for a couple of months now. I run then about a turn and a half for solo, 165lbs.
Ordered mine from Direct Cycle Parts for under $450
I had the same experience with my 440's (HD version) on my '07 fxdwg. Long sweeping turns at high speed felt so solid after changing shocks. I left them turned up pretty high even solo. I liked the more rigid ride.
