I just picked up my 2012 fat bob and was curious as to what you think my first mod / to do should be to it?
Im thinking maybe pegs, pipes... something like that.
Depends, what is your budget? How does the bike fit you? What is your riding style?
There are seats, suspension, performance...and more. See my signature for the mods I made to my FB
Bob
Your first mod should be with your schedule. As in, you should now be making excuses to go out and ride. My wife refers to my Fat Bob as Mrs Davidson and accords her the wary respect of a competing woman.
Do you want your bike to be loud? You don't need a new exhaust to do that. I love the tommy gun exhaust shields and wouldn't remove them for anything. I did like the blacked out look of the HD SE street performance mufflers so I got them. They had an added benefit of a deeper exhaust note but by no means a loud system. But if loud is what your looking for you could always replace your baffles while keeping the tommy gun shields. Google Big City Thunder baffles.
Can someone elaborate on this 30T for me? Sorry Im still a newb in the Harley world.
It replaces your front 32 Tooth pulley with a 30T pulley to raise the final drive ratio which helps the bike accelerate better at the expense of top speed - for a given gear and speed you will be at a higher rpm(about 6%) with the mod. The mod will make your 6th gear much more usable.
do you need saddlebags, a sissybar, a better seat, pegs/grips, windshield.
i ride alot at night so upgraded headlights , and led turns/brake were done quickly.
once the bike is comfortable for a full tank straight ( minimum) then worry about making it go faster.

I dont ride to much at night, yet. However I would be interested in upgrading the tail lights / turn signals to LED's preferably with black housings. Any recommendations?
