Have had 3 sets.
1 - progressive 412 in 11"HD. Absolutely horrible. Like a rigid.
2 - ricor in 12". Rode decent. After 3 years, blew the seal on the left side.
3 - no running Pro 970s in 12.6". This are the best of the bunch for me. Kicks the back end on the ground and absorbs most mild bumps.
I just bought a set of Ohlins from Fuel Moto that I plan to install this weekend on my 2010 FXDC. The ones I bought are what they call the entry level (HD 216) since I don't really have a need for making constant adjustments on a regular basis. Mostly ride solo.
I also looked at the Ricor's but settled on Ohlins due to the feedback from forum members.
I have had the Progressive 412s for 1 season. 12.5. they seem ok and were very reasonable priced. Way better than stock. I looked at more expensive but they were not in my budget.
Works Steel Trackers on my FXDXI, very pleased with them. They'll make them to fit your weight and riding style. Will also make them a little longer if you wish (to get you more travel for a better ride). Mention you're a HOG member for a discount too.
