Im a short legged MF and there's times when I could really use a RG on my RK. I test rode my wifes FXDC the other day and man was that easier getting into a parking place *** first. I wa disappointed in the higher rpm vibration tho WTF?
I ride fairly regular with my buddy on his '08 Ultra. I can't begin to think of all the times my wife has had to jump off my bike to run over and push or pull his a$$ out of a canted parking spot. I can't see a Dyna being that kind of an issue, but for some people, a reverse could be a life saver. And the fact we are talking about a Dyna, means at least he's not some putz who went out and bought the most expensive touring bike that was available. He bought a bike that fits him. So if he's looking for a reverse setup, he probably has a good reason.
I could see where there would be times where this would be a really trick accessory to have, for example on a downhill trying to back into a parking space or attempting to back out of an incline spot. There are also slippery surface areas attempting to back up this would be a nice feature.

I've got a Champion reverse on my Crossbones trike. Easy 1 hour install. Use it at least once every time I ride. In use for almost 2 years with no issues. Models to fit all Harley Big Twins. I used an 09 & up touring model on my softail so the handle location would accommodate my exhaust.

To the naysayers, if the guy wants reverse gear, that his choice. He's not asking to put it in YOUR bike anyways...
I think reverse gear on bikes are like condoms: better to have one and not use it than to need it and not have it! I know a reverse gear would've saved me some trouble in a couple situations, specially where I live where it's all slopes and tight spaces and whatnot.
Desert,
Thanks for the advise. I believe its above my mechanical ability. The Champion is about 3,000 installed, where as the Aim must be half that. There are two installers locally including the Harley dealer.
Will contact them.
thanks,
Roger
