Just buried my Wideglide in August after 10 years and what seemed like a million miles (or 156000 if you want to be a literalist) I had to put her down.
Long story short I bought a 2013 Switchback on Saturday and want to put a nice set of apes on it. The problem I'm having isn't finding the bars its finding the cable kits. I talked to a rep at burly who said the hadn't fitted a kit up yet and couldn't make any recommendations on where to go other than custom measured and fitted cables. I've seen other switchbacks with apes on here can any one tell me who you went to for cables and if you had to custom measure. Whats the best way to do that?
I put 12" on mine and was able to keep factory cables. Any taller and I would have had to do extensions. Hill Country customs makes a kit but I've seen mixed reviews on service here but have no experience with them.
I got my cables from Magnum Shielding. They are very quick on the turn-around and were helpful when I ordered mine. I would suggest disconnecting the cables from the current controls only, get the new bars mocked up / installed, and then measure how much over stock you need. You may also be able to just tell them how much higher compared to stock you are planning on going and they may already know what lengths you will need. Post up some pics when you get it all installed.
If you have ABS this is your ONLY option. Part numbers are listed in thread below. I also ordered a AN-3 adapter from JPCylces, when I got my standard 14" la choppers kit I cut the front brake line to length, installed the AN-3 fitting into end and it screws right to the ABS block, problem solved. If you don't have ABS then any standard issue kit with single front brake line with work. it gets pricey but shop around. I put a 1200$ bar and cable set up on my bike for less then 500$
