if there was no oil showing on the stick it wasnt likely still low... it was low
There is not much you can do about it now except monitor the fluid levels and see if you have a problem. Chances are some lame duck didnt put enough in it. Did you find extra oil in the primary?
I didn't measure the drained oil from the primary - so I don't know. I generally never measure fluids I've drained mostly because I usually stay on top of things, but this is new to me bike and I assumed with such low mileage not much could be out of whack. Lesson for me.
My expert suggestion: refill with the proper amount of tranny fluid. My invoice is already in the mail.
I think there was some miscommunication, I was only looking for "thoughts" not "expert opinions". I think the going rate for thoughts is $0.01 (i.e. penny for your thoughts?). So, I'm sure you'll agree that sending you a penny is not worth it for either of us, although it could help keep the Post Office open a little longer.
I just looked at the owners manual for my 07 super glide and it says to check the transmission fluid with the bike on the side stand. The last time I changed my transmission fluid, I put in the 32oz the owners manual says it takes and when I checked the fluid with the bike on the side stand the transmission fluid was right on the full mark.
Thanks for confirming this for me! I never could remember off hand which way it was supposed to be checked

Your still getting billed by Vic! LOL
IMO if there wasn't a bunch of oil streaked along the bottom of the bike the most likely cause is some I-jitt forgot to RTFM.
And, where do you get litres in Texas - just out of curiosity?
Also you can add the entire litre, the tranny and engine oil compartments on your harley are vented. They can't build up pressure.
Only thing you can do about the past is ..... pray I guess! However you will know if there was any damage within the next 50 to 50,000 miles!
