I have nothing else to add about the bars. I just wanna chime in on your choice of color. DO IT! I can't wait to see the new purple on a Street Bob. Post lots of pics.
Now start drooling!! I am....this bike wants me so bad!! (see stock photo attached)
That VooDoo purple metal flake is the teats!!
Now I just need to unload the Super Glide!!
Red Rock Harley in Las Vegas has one on the showroom floor.
And the gall of them to price it $2000 OVER MSRP.
However the salesman said "we can talk about that if your serious"

You can order it using HD-1 and pay MSRP only, plus add some of your own tweaks while you're at it.
There is/was, a purple one on the floor at Sheldon's. Definitely won't be missed on that.
Honestly, it looks good. Fits the bike better than the satin black. Didn't think it would. However, I couldn't own it myself. Just not me.
Sorry for the way off topic..

Different strokes. In '08, bought an anniversary Road Glide, Gold, copper and black. Didn't think I would, but got lots of attention and comments where ever I rode. Ya just never know.... tomp dd50
To make this post legit, thinking about SB mini apes to replace the risers and stock bars, this spring.
For most riders who cover less than 200 miles, it doesn't matter.
Once you start talking 500-1000 mile (or more) days you will feel the difference very quickly.
I use stock bars.
On long runs I pull the bars back as far as I can without hitting the tank.
It works for me. (lower and back toward me)
Motorcycle manufacturers spend a ton of money on R&D for ergonomics. Look at any manufacture's touring bikes and the bar positions. They are all very close.
Buy apes and mini apes if you like the look, but for comfort, the more neutral positions are better.
I understand what you are saying about stock bars. The Harley I enjoyed riding the most was an 05 Road King. High seat, low bars, like the bikes from the 40's. They raised the bars and dropped the seat on the newer RK's and I didn't like the feel near as much.
The buckhorn design on the SGC bars, cause me neck cramps. I am an old off roader and like MX style bars better.Overhand grip like the German drum stick grip. Drummers will understand...
