Looking to convert to a solo, bobber style seat on my 07 street bob. Im not a fan of the big gap with visible springs on most of the available bolt on kits.. anyone have any kit suggestions? I'm going for this look
If you know a welder or steel worker you could ask him (or do it yourself) to make a hidden bracket or aluminium or stainless steel. Or you could velcro it... If it has a large enough surface and it stil fits in the front of the seat so it snaps underneath like the stock seat i actually think velcro would work with some strong glue.. But a bolt on bracket is number one solution
If you remove the rear fender like on the picture you could make the bracket vith some holes that fit the plate on the frame underneath the seat... It has several holes if i remember correct. Then the plate should have a small bend towards the rear end of the seat and a hole so you can put a bolt thru the bracket and up in the seat that you normally use for the mounting hardware.

How about a simple Le Pera seat? It'll bolt right on and look great. I went with the Le Pera Silhouette Deluxe. I looks just the way I want and is comfortable enough for me.
I was just thinking if it was held in place by the stock front bracket.. And then if the velcro is good quality and a big enough area it can actually be quite hard to "rip it off" but i agree that doing a bracket is much better/safer, and is a easy fix. I could make you one in an hour or two if i had the bike and seat near to meassure.. You must know someone if you are not up to it yourself
Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I'll have to buy the seat I want and just make up a bracket to fit. I can't go with a lepara as I'm ditching the rear fender and that's where it's mounted. I'd like something a little smaller as well
