06 Transmission case no dowels solution
In case anybody is interested... I picked up my new chrome inner primary and my newly welded compensator cup/rotor from the machine shop and when I was talking to the owner I explained why I was putting the Baker bearing in the primary. He told me that for little to no money he could make a tool so that he could drill out the 2 holes in the transmission to accept the dowels in the inner primary without removing it. He was talking like $50.00 tops.
I am surprised that nobody else has ever done this or even mentioned it.
I opted for him not to do it because my bike is all apart and its winter time here and I would have to trailer it to him. I am going to install my new chrome inner primary with the baker bearing, new welded rotor, Hayden M6 primary chain tensioner and I should be good to go. If I have a problem down the road with the inner primary bearing I will then have him do it but I don't see any problems with this stuff for quite a while.
