With my short exhaust It was not used. Could not get to the bolts holding it on so painted it black. Went to Supertrapp Supermeg 2:1 exhaust and it uses the bracket. Paint it black and ride.

Okay - I spent an hour in the garage and got two of the three bolts out. The third one requires a special wrench. T-27 bit and I used a dremmel cut off wheel to shorten the bit and am gluing (with JB Weld) the shorten Torx bit into a 1/4 inch box wrench. When the JB Weld sets, the wrench should be thin enough to fit between the bracket and frame. I will report tomorrow how it goes. If it works, I will be happy to mail the home-made T-27 / 1/4"wrench to anyone else that wants to remove the bracket. All I will ask is that when you are done with it - mail it on to the next guy that wants to use it.

I also got 2 of the bolts out and couldn't get out the last one. Didn't know they sold the tool I might have to look into that.

Just to be on the safe side I would heat the area up with a hair dryer first. Those damn torque screws can be a pain.

I took that bracket off too. I took off what bolts I could reach. Then I tapped the bracket back and forth with a hammer till the bolt got loose and took it out with a pair of pliers. No special tools.

I got my bracket off this morning. The tool I made worked only well enough to back the bolt our about 1/4 inch. I used a hacksaw blade (no handle because it would not fit in there) to cut the head off the bolt and the bracket came right off.
