Most torx bits have a hex shaped shaft that fits inside the box end of a wrench perfectly. Cut a cheap torx out of the part that locks on the ratchet, grab the appropriate wrench, and go. Do that one first and once it's loose enough you can probably finger twist it the rest of the way.

That all said, I got lazy and just left mine there....

Sounds simple and that's exactly what I was doing, except I JB welded the torx bit into the box wrench so I would not have to fumble around holding the bit with one hand and manipulating the wrench with the other.) Unfortunately, if you have already put on the new Vance and Hines pipes, they are in the way, as well as the clutch cable in the way. There ain't much room to maneuver the cut-off torx bit and wrench. If the pipes were off and if you took the clutch cable off, it would be simple. I didn't want to spend that much time in the cold garage, so the hacksaw blade worked fine for me.

Not to be a smart-***, but why is it important to replace the screws? They are tapped into blind holes. No oil comes out when you remove them. I did replace mine (the two I unscrewed, and left the remains of the one I cut the head off), but I do not know why this would be necessary. Just curious.

I just painted mine black. When I do the front motor mount again I'll remove it since the motor will be free to raise up a little for space.

I took an angle grinder to mine. And then threaded a nut over the stump, so it doesn't snag on wash rags.
