I still have stock clutch with a SE spring after 107 build, it works just fine the way I ride. If I ever change the clutch pack, will go for a performance one for sure.
is the lever pull a bit much for you? you can always put in an easy pull, also make sure your cable is lubed and adjusted and that will really smooth things out. I run a barnett and love it, did the ramps for the ex pull, and keep that sucker on point it is a great feel
It's a 95 inch with a cam, it's got a Barnett clutch with an easy pull but it only shifts easy when the bike is moving. At a stop I have to rev it just to be able to move the pedal to get it into another gear. It's been adjusted multiple times. Barnett says it could be the easy pull. I just want it to shift smoothly like a stock bike.
Feel your pain.
My last bike I installed Barnett clutches and the only way I could start the bike to start was to lift the bike so the wheel could turn, then when it warmed up I could lower in to the ground. And that was a kicker! Forget about finding neutral.
I ended up giving it away and getting new stock clutches and plates.
I figure if your going to race it and you really need that extra grip then you go the preformace route but if your want to ride and have that normal feel then I stick with stock.
