So I have a 2012 street Bob that over the last couple of years I have installed a VH 2-1 pro pipe, RSD Air cleaner with a power vision tuner. After auto tuning my bike around 10 times (5x back roads 5x highway riding) she is running great ... I guess.
I have been thinking cams for awhile now but haven't had the funds to do anything about it. Now the time has come.
My bike is pretty quick in the higher revs I feel like I'm just missing out on a lot of torque that I should have gained with the pro pipe. So I think I have set my mind on either the SE 255s or the new woods 222s ( I can't find much on the woods cause there so new). If anyone can give me an idea of the best choice to go with out of these two cams it would help me out a lot. I am also wondering what else I am going to need to complete the install. Dealership was tellingly me I would need some compression release and some gaskets.
Anyone with experience with these cams don't hesitate to shout it out ....
I have a 2012 fxdc. I installed some andrews 48h cams recently and am really happy with them. They pull real hard to about 4500 rpm. Really woke the bike up. From what I understand they are pretty similar to woods 222. I went with them based on price. They ran me 220 shipped vs 375 for woods.
Did you need any thing else to do the install besides the actual cams? I just looked them up looks like they pull pretty hard. I'm looking for a monster tourqe increase that will allow me to get up to 80-90 faster then stock with some old school grumble coming out of the propipe. Do you have any video of how they sound?

You will need adjustable push rods if you don't plane on taking the top off and reusing them(stock push rods have to be cut in half to get them out w/o disassembling the top) and then get a cam gasket kit. Finally you'll be ready to rock and roll w/ the cam install.
If you want a peppy cam that will also give you some nice sound, look at the SE-204. Its torquey and will pull hard all the way up and has an awesome lope at idle. My bike is going in for these as soon as I get my parts back from powder. I looked at cams for MONTHS and this is what I'm going with.

As someone mentioned above, I have the Wood-222 cams & love them. They are a great torque cam! I did a lot of research and even rode some bikes with various cams before I decided on what I wanted. The Wood-222 cams and the Andrews 48H are both great cams for all around grunt and still perform well at higher rpms in an otherwise stock engine. Having a 2-1 pipe will make all the difference in how your cams perform, and I think you would be very happy with the Wood-222s.
I'm not a fan of the SE255 cams...they do have a ton of low grunt, but don't perform near as well at higher rpms. Also, due to the durations and overlap, the SE255s also produce a ton of heat.
I will add, also look a the Andrews 48H, and consider the SE 204s...best bolt in SE cam IMO, but can be hard to tune.
