I was hit by a car recently and the bike mostly has minor damage to the left side, pegs etc, nothing huge. I am certain the frame is ok, but think it might be wise to have it checked just to be safe. Any idea on who or where i can get that done in Southern California? I am near to Los Angeles and San Diego if that helps. THAnks! In Case you were wondering a 22 year old texting and had no insurance… Leg surgery went fine, I will be okay again in the near future...
Texting while driving.......Illegal and double down on that as the proximate cause of an injury accident.
Driving uninsured.......illegal....and double down on that being involved in a "at fault" injury accident.
90-180 days in the slammer sounds about right.
Glad you alive to tell the story.
Find a personal injury attorney.
Being on the opposite coast, I have no help for you in terms of getting your bike looked at. Just wanted to say that it's great to read this as first hand account rather than a post by someone else posting an obit. This past summer was my first year riding, and came across more the a few people in like the one who got you. Thankfully I was lucky and none hit me. Good luck on a speedy recovery, and getting your bike repaired.
Take it to your HD dealer .. they will put it on a frame jig.
I had to have a new frame on my 2013 RK after a deer at 65 mph .. I called a personal injury attorny but he said he couldnt find the next of kin to the deer in question.
Glad you made it through to talk about it. Texting and driving is becoming an epidemic in this country. And driving with no insurance should be good enough for a long time in the joint.
The use a computerized scanning device to get motorcycle geometries adjusted. Might be able to scan the frame.
Good luck on your recovery.
great advice yes get the frame checked.. even stock frames can be a bit out from new every thing has a + - minus in spec.. and don't forget post a request for parts/free. as most guys have bits in the shed too help you out get back on your bike.
Using a cell phone indiscriminately anywhere anytime continues to become a compulsive obsession with so many drivers. Last spring as I was coming up to an intersection, I had a guy look right at me, look the other way, and proceed to pull out in front of me...while talking on his cell phone. Fortunately I was able to skid to a stop and stay upright...I let him know what I thought about his ignorant behavior in easy to understand words and gestures. His response was to be annoyed that I was not allowing him to proceed.
