Getting 100 TQ at 3,000 from a 106 is pretty normal with the head work being done. Depending on what head work your doing.
Ours is a little over that, 102, we are using the SS585 easy start cams.

All I can say is your gonna really love it. They are a blast to ride.

No need to run the plate, it's purely an option as it works perfectly fine with the stocker according to Randy at Hyperformance.

I don't claim to be an expert, but I've talked to a lot of people and read a ton on this stuff ( much of it from people that I would consider experts ) in the past few months and the SE just isn't needed or worth the $$$. Many will say the DT isn't needed either, but it's the better option of the two.

At 40% off all parts and free machining, I'm buying what ever my bud Randy says. Between that and doing the assembly myself, the whole thing is costing me $2800. I'll take the extra piece of mind that the SE plate and pump gives for that price thank you.
PS: the Randy I'm talking about builds 50+ motors a year and has been doing so for a very long time. I don't question anything he says. I'll post dyno results in May.

You are going to do a crank run-out check right?

Just read a bit about the Thayer pump. It looks great but I'd never even consider putting out that kind of coin for an oil pump for this build. I paid way less for the pump AND plate.

Very interested to see the numbers when you get here dynoed. Our build will be very similar. I'm running gear drive 585's, head work, roller rockers. My TB will be stock for the time being though.

Just offering you an option that you or your builder may not have thought/know of, that is all. I'm sure your build with the SE will be more than OK.

Enjoy.

Another known fact is that stock pumps and oil plates are notorious for low pressure at idle and if I were even to consider using a stock plate, it would be with a different pressure valve spring or at least a shim.

That's why I got the Baisly plunger & Baisly LMR-2 spring for the cure.
