Default heading out of the switchback world

Sorry to say (in some aspects) I'm selling my switchback and moving onto something else.

I love that bike and have a put a ****-load of $$ into it but no matter how hard I try, I'm just too big for it. Runs awesome, fast as hell and nimble but if it don't fit...it don't fit

I bought a tricked out 07 deluxe with bags, fairing, air-ride...all that happy horseshit, until I sell the switchback and decide which direction I will go.
Maybe a new version road glide when they come out, street glide...I don't know yet

Anyway, take care all, been a fun couple of years here on this forum.

Glad you enjoyed your Switchy....
I love mine but I can see in a few years the same thing happening....My only complaint about the bike is that on long(er) rides it gets a little cramped. I have a Mustang Vintage Wide seat on now and have been tossing around the idea of have a local seat customizer move me back a few inches or buying a Lepera Maverick daddy long legs seat to get some extra space.
Anyway, hope you enjoy whatever you get next as much as you did the SB.

Thanks George and big thanks for devising those ingenious board extensions for me. They really helped and you should market them not just for FLD's but other bikes too.

I'm gonna have to move the boards out on the deluxe as well. The heel-toe shifter on that may or may not stay on...never used em before and it feels weird. LOL

stay in touch bro

Just had to look up your bike pics. .that things sweet makes me wish I had a SB. Shame it doesn't fit you though. I'm 6'2 with a 34" inseam and what works for me is forward controls and highway bars with pegs for long trips. My seat's pretty low profile too though and back a bit. .Le Pera Barebones.

I put some 3" forward control extension plates on my wide glide. Im 6'3" and it fits me a lot better. The bike had highway pegs on it but i took them off because this is a lot better looks and performance wise

I never ran a crashbar with highway pegs on it but tried numerous seats. Even though crashbars are functional and save your paint and chrome, I can't stand the way they look unless it's a full-time bagger set up. Rubberfrog on here made me some board extensions that moved the boards forward 3" and that helped the most. At least my knees weren't hovering above the tank.

I didn't run the bags on it because they were so small, couldn't even fit my damn jacket in them and they look like little purses to me. Hate em. One side continuously popped open even when locked. So I was stuck with apparently "Kate Moss" inspired bags that opened at will...maybe should rename them the Kardashian totes...lol, geez. in all honesty, the bags were my only real and valid complaint. The rest can all be worked out depending upon how deep your pockets are.

Went to le pera factory and tried all their models to no avail. Tried all the HD ones too. My problem though is I've had both shoulders cut and love apes. So I need some kinda lower back support to take the strain off the shoulders. The tall boy seats didn't have enough back support. So went to C&C, awesome looking seats w/backrests but too hard for my old *** so ended up with the mustang wide touring. Real fugly but real comfortable.

Other than the bags, the switchback is an awesome bike. A true hot rod when you dial it in properly. Power to weight ratio is perfect and when you spruce up the whole intake, exhaust tuner/dyno thing, a total winner as far as performance. I'm getting 84 HP and 100 lbs. torque. On a 715 lb. bike, that is a awesome combo without stressing the engine. They should have at least chromed the cases instead of polished. There's another trip to the bank, but I did it.

Had to redo the suspension too, front and back. Way too much **** to buy and I kept spending and spending. Pulled the plug when I hit $28k for it all.
Whoever buys this thing will get a real score, especially as far as performance. The looks are good for me, the power is awesome...hopefully someone else will like what I've done and buy it.

Anyway, water under the bridge for me now, picking up the deluxe sunday and then catch my breath for a year or so while I decide on what my [perhaps] final bike may be.

Capital P on perhaps....hehe

A Deluxe?
That is even for shorter legs yet.
Many chicks ride that particular model of bike just for that reason.
You think I'm jokin' take a look around.

You should go with a FLH frame.
You'll be there eventually anyway.

Mark my word.
