Slider questions!

Doing this on a '14 FXDB - what is the difference between part # 45500271 SLIDER RH FRT FORK BLACK and part # 45500273 FORK SLIDERS BLACK FXDL??? Which do I need? Is it as simple as the first part # is just the right side while the second part # is two new sliders?

My mechanic said even if I got a new black right hand slider, it would be wise to powder coat both the new right side and old left slider so that they match exactly. Is that just him trying to jack up the bill or will they be noticeably different shades of black?

I used "45500271, SLIDER,RH,FRT FORK,BLACK", it looks exactly like the other one.

Mine matched really well, 2014 Street Bob. There's a small cosmetic difference on the back side but it's not really noticeable. The sliders do not come with reflectors so if you're planning on keeping them then plan on reattaching the one you have or getting a new one. They don't care about reflectors here but I know that in some states they do.

If i do this on my 2014 FXDB with spoke wheels, will the rotors fit the 6 slotted mags wheels i'm planning to get down the road ? The guy at my local HD dealer couldn't really answer me, or wasnt sure... "we'd have to try it out" .... :| I think i confused him when i told him i wanted to gather all the parts to make my SB dual disc.

The 6 slotted spoke wheel mags seems to have the same bolt pattern for the brake rotors, anyone know? If it doesnt fit, i'll just get the mags first before doing anything to the brakes. i'm not that rich.

They're the same bolt pattern. Check eBay for cheap takeoffs if you're just wanting the plain stock ones. I scored a set of discs with 3k miles on them for like $70 shipped.

Thanks for the info! So i'll be able to use the same rotors for the new wheels i will be getting, thats good news.

I'd love to do both wheels and dual brakes at the same time but it's way too expensive for me.
