Finally got a good ride in
New transmission case
Andrews 30T pulley
2014 style Compensator
New clutch hub and bearing
Cycle electric stator
new outer primary cover w/ cast-in oil scoop for compensator
Hayden M6 BT07 chain tensioner
Timken wheel bearings
Michelin Commander II tires
Vibra-Technics front motor mount
As can be expected after all that, I was a little leery of riding the bike. I'm not a mechanic I just research a lot before I do anything. I bought a lot of tools, even got a nice hydraulic press for bearing work (needed for the clutch hub and inner primary). I think the only thing i didn't do was mount the tires but I did help the person doing that for me.
I've been on a few short trips around town, testing things out and re-checking this or that. Yesterday was my first nice long day of riding, about 150 miles mostly backroads out by Winchester VA. Bike runs flawlessly, vibrations are almost non-existent, the entire primary/transmission is bone dry, and that lower gearing really is nice. I've learned a lot in the short time I've had this bike and felt in over my head more often than not but glad I tackled all the work myself, even if it has led to some expensive setbacks. Now hopefully I can talk myself out of any projects on it. .at least for the spring/summer.
