Hey there guys. I haven't posted here in a very long time, but I wanted to share my finished product of my 'El Diablo' 16" ape hanger install. I did all the work myself in my garage, took 3 evenings after work. I'm currently looking into black mirrors and turn signals as the chrome looks slightly out of place(however gives some contrast IMO.) I got a Burly brand extended cable kit, the throttle cables seem awful long. I'm going to try re route them between the forks. They're really out in the open and if you bend them too much the throttle gets sticky. I'm open to any opinions or comments! Otherwise I really like the handlebars, they feel great.
Very Nice! I love riding with Apehangers and they look Cool. I am trying to ride my new bike with the stock lower bars, I'll see how long I last. I'll probably end up putting some Ape's on this winter.
Thanks, and SLV I like your Candy Orange too. You don't wanna know how long I hummed and hawed at the dealership before I ordered the SunGlo Red. Your Gauntlet fairing is giving me some ideas, looks great. I'm trying to picture that with my apes, not sure tho. I need some kind of wind protection for the end of July. Me and a buddy are planning a 5000 to 6000 km road trip over 11 days. I've never been a windshield man, always ripped them off any bike I've owned. However, I find this Street Bob beats the hell out of me at highway speeds.
You should be able to just zip tie the throttle cables along with the brake cable against the bars. Mine dont look good because we were out of black so had to go with silver cables and they routed it forward of the bars instead of behind, but you get the idea.
I got my cheap black mirrors off ebay. Work surprisingly well with little vibration, and thats with aluminum bushings (not the poly ones).

Thanks Matt. The gauntlet is good to knock the wind off your chest. I'm comfortable on long trips, but you'll still get wind in the face. A windshield is the best bet for blocking substantial wind. Quick disconnect would be the way to go. That way you can easily remove it for normal riding around the home port.
