I'd like you to get a Dyna, but if you like your Street Glide, have you seen this: http://store.fatbaggers.com/nadrsecokit.html

I've toured 20,000 km on the Street Glide. As soon as it is moving, in even slow speed, it is a breeze. But, moving it from stand still isn't so. AND, for me, even getting it off the kickstand, that long reach, can mean....we topple. It has happened. More, I am in a dip at a parking lot, and I have to park it there. And, can not get it off the stand. These are reasons, I hate to travel solo. I used to run about everywhere. Now, I hesitate so very much if it means me and the Street Gide - alone. yes, it is lovely. .It has great sound. Of course, I am going to miss it. But, ..... what fun is there really, if I have to wait to ride with others, or I fret because I may get stuck, in a sitting position, waiting for help to get me off the kick stand. Its humiliating. And what crosses my mind is "if you can't lift it, you shouldnt be riding it".

The Street Bob is a great Dyna; they used to say Dyna's are the Motorcyclist's Harley, at least until having a Touring bike became the big fad. You can do a lot to make the Bob versatile, from bar hopper to sport tourer, and better on dirt or gravel than anything else except a Sportser. You will give up comfort to trade your Street Glide for a Dyna, no getting around that. But you'll gain quickness in acceleration and more fun in the twisties, as well as ease your issues at low speed and off the kickstand. Cheaper to insure also.

I would just go buy the street bob, or ANY Dyna over any bagger.

Hello

Thank you very much.

I decided. I was going to do it. I rode in a Mother's Day ride yesterday on my BMW GS, and I had to finally realize the truth..to be true to me. I don't like the ride much. I wound't take it anywhere solo because for me, the ride is the journey. The destination matters not. When I am on a harley, the soul connection starts before I even turn on the ignition. From there, It is a spiritual journey. i go anywhere, alone on a harley. I am mesmerized. The past year, I have been missing that dream like quality. So, I did it. I am going to store the BMW for those off rode excursions, and get me the Street Bob, I've always had my eye on.

I put a deposit, all over the phone. It will be a day's journey to go and get it. But, it will be lovely.

For accessories, all in black, I ordered - pro pipe 2 in 1 Vance & Hines, Stage 1, detachable windshield, detachable sissy seat and back rack. That about covers it. I really just want it simple now. I am excited. I can see me riding all the terrains, going anywhere, packing so lightly, and being ONE. I don't need a large touring bike, it always had been a mistake. I am only happy, that I am able to let go of the huge dollar loss, and move on. I'm giving myself a present...a soul mate on wheels. Thank you all

Welcome back to what riding is all about! I'll be 63 years old next month, and after owning three baggers, I traded my Road King Classic for a new Super Glide Custom. The enjoyment of riding "just a MOTORCYCLE" is back! I don't regret it for a second, and truthfully, I found I'm less cramped up, and more comfortable on the Super Glide than the bagger! Enjoy! I think you made the right decision.

Congrats, you're gonna love it...

I've been taken all over BC on my Street Bob, from short rips to Squamish to camping weekends in Tofino, from spontaneous overnighters in Kelowna to week longs in Nelson... She even took me on a multi-day trip to (and around) Jasper!

I love every single km we spend together and I'm sure you two are going to be very happy
