Poly bushings will not reduce vibration. Rubber is a better isolator. That said, I run poly bushings on my FLD with 1 1/2" risers and low Hollywood bars because I prefer the more direct feel.

True statement....

Poly are at their best on tall bars to help stabilize them, for short bars they really do not offer much that rubber does not other than longevity.
How the bars are torqued down will have a much bigger effect on vibration than the bushings, when replacing worn out bushings you would see a marked difference.

I felt a lot less vibration with the polys, other than at the stop light (which is more from the cam/top end kit). I can definitely see out of the mirrors better

I don't think a thin strip of innertube is going to do much for you. New grips and/or vibration damping gloves will serve you better.

Replacing worn rubber bushings will also help.

I've run both on my fxdf. Seems the difference is where the vibes are most noticeable.
For me rubber was better at idle but poly was better at speed. Different strokes.....
