I bought the V&H slip on as a stop gap until I figured out which exhaust I wanted on mine. I love it and am leaving it the way it is, sounds awesome, pulls hard, and after a while I dig the looks now.
Cant go wrong for the couple hundred bucks it cost to get one. That and getting rid of that uncomfortable POS stock seat (too bad cause it looks awesome on there).
This bike does it all 5K mies in under 3 months, love it.

I have to agree, the bike runs very good with it. I ended up being sorry I took mine off. Needless to say I woke up to my mistake and put it back on. I was toying with the idea of buying a Supertrapp system but decided to stay with what I know works really good on my bike and saved spending money on another system.
For an experiment today I decided to put the factory headers and V&H slip on muffler back on the bike for a test. I had to run up to the dealers to buy a set of conical exhaust gaskets, but they are pretty cheap anyways. It took me about an hour to make the switch. I took the bike out for a nice long ride around town and out on the highway where I took it up to 115mph a couple of times. All the problems I was having with harsh vibrations and the bike losing stability over 105 and wiggling it's butt down the highway are gone. It is back to being rock solid on the road and well behaved. Needless to say the Big Shots are not going back on my bike. I will put them up for sale locally to try and recoup some of my losses. I feel it has more torque and hp with the slip on anyways over the Big Shots after riding the bike back to back before and after the swap. The only down side is the factory headers and slip on don't look near as good on the bike as the Big Shots did. I will take performance and comfort over looks.
As for the Predator front engine mount I ordered I see it has already shipped and I will install it when I do my 5,000 mile service next week as it is easier to install if you have the oil filter off.
did you remove the cat out of the stock header? I did not think the stock low rider would do 115mph, have had mine to 95 once was fast enough for me.
Good to hear from you Dennis. What mods you got planned?
Think I will keep it stock for the most part. Bought a windshield and a Vance and Hines slip on muffler for better ride and sound on the highway. Not sure if the FP3 will make much of a difference with the stock exhaust.

No it is still in there, as for speed at 115 it was still going so it is good for a bit more yet, but not much more. My guess it maybe 120. I get nervous at that speed that the windscreen will break and back off. I had one break on me back in 1979 and hit me. It is not something you forget.

The slip on responds nicely with the FP3 and a high flow intake.

How much of a difference will that make in fuel efficiency and performance? Not that I am a big fuel miser since my other ride is a 2007 Dodge Ram. Just trying to get ahead of the learning curve. Recommended intake?

My mileage hardly changed, dropped a bit most likely from cranking the wrist more often.
Performance wise it is something you can feel but nothing wild. That would take engine mods.
ive always said that about those bigshots and other funky exhaust systems most of the time you loose a buncha torque and runs worse, but makes alotta noise for the typical HD guys so they sell.
with a remap and K&N filter the 103 engine will easy do 120+
