BTW mantis, how difficult was it to install the sissy bar? I'm planning to put on one piece detachable sissy bar, docking kit and turn signal relocation kit this weekend, but instructions indicate that it may be a bit more complex than I originally expected. Did you have to cut off and rewire turn signals?
it is actually alittle more time consuming than i thought it would be, you have to cut the turn signal wires . Its not that it is comlicated, it just took alittle longer than i planned

Relocation kit wasn't too bad, It took me about an hour or so. You do have to cut the wires going to the directional tho. Stock tail light post is on the left and the relo is on the right.
tail light relocation
Although I am not loving the relo post the overall assembly is pretty cool and keeps the wife on the bike.

I purchased one from great bike gear, is a new license plate bracket that they mount on, takes about 20 min. moved them back for detachable rack, and for future saddle bags
I just got back from the dealer. They did the ignition switch recall for me, it took about one hour. On my way home, the bike died on the highway about half a mile from the dealer. They picked me up and went over everything again and took it for a test ride. They found nothing wrong. I did the 10 mile ride home and the bike ran fine. I hope that was just a one time fluke.

Mantis 404 I got the same detachable sissy as you! Do you know or anyone else know if and how it would work with the dyna synthetic bags? I got the bags already and the sissy but Local dealership parts department can't tell if I can use both or just one or the other

I do not have bags yet, however all one would need is slightly longer bolts to fasten the bags to the docking posts.
I currently have the detachable backrest and am pondering which bags to get. am interested in some of the viking hard bags.
I bought my FXDL in late June. Have not received anything on this recall. Any chance it was corrected before I bought? I have my HD survey in my hand. Im not handing it in until I get this recall done quickly and to perfection. May be the only leverage I have.
