Loving all the Low Riders on here! One question though. I see a lot of the bikes with laydown license plates, but every time I try to find one to order, it always says "will not fit FXDL". That's the HD website, J and P, Drag Specialties, etc. I really don't know why the wouldn't fit. Seems like the rear fender is pretty much the same as a Super Glide. Is there something different about the rear fender on the new Low Riders? Where did you guys get your laydown plate?

Another vote for the Hogrida plate. By far the best I could find as far as laying low towards the fender, plus it's may be one of the most inexpensive. It's made with good quality parts though. See the pick below to see mine.
Still trying to find a laydown plate holder for my Low Rider. Still wondering WHY a laydown license plate will fit a 2009 Low Rider, but NOT fit a 2014-16 Low Rider? Bigger fender? Holes in different spot? Or what? I have the old license plate holder from my 2011 FXDC, and it looks exactly like the one on my new Low Rider. What's the difference? J&P Cycles says the laydown WILL fit a 2011 FXDC, but WON'T fit the new Low Riders.

Does Not Fit Your 2016 Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider FXDL
I think the plates you are looking at were released before the 2014 FXDL was released. That's why you don't see the newer model listed. I'm fairly certain it will fit, but a call to customer service may help clear it up for you.

Don't get caught up in that. Vendors leave things out.
It says "Does Not Fit Your 2016 Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider FXDL" because it's not in the list...anything not in the list will say that ...right or wrong
So do you believe that it also doesn't fit a 2011 FXD? In that example you can't even get to "Does Not Fit Your 2016 Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider FXD". See below
Also use your resources and references. H-D.com says they're interchangeable...what's different about this mount?
It's just a simple license plate mount
