How many miles have all you lucky Low Rider owners put on your bikes?
I got my eye on a blue and white one for 2015.
Have about 2500 miles on mine, bought in March. On long trips I have a touring bike I use, so my Lowrider is for shorter runs and in town. I will probably sell the touring bike and ride only the Lowrider.
The only other factory installed option that I know of is security, dealer installed options is a whole nother subject....unless I'm mistaken and would be curious if I am. I need to ride one, but the LR fits like a glove in the showroom. I would want an Amber Whiskey w/ ABS and security for Jan./Feb.ish. Then a few dealer installed options. Could be the bike for a first HD for me.
Stay safe, John
The other factory option includes laced wheels.
I've narrowed it down to a 2014 silver/black w/ ABS or a 2015 jade green w/o ABS.
What's everyone's advice on this choice? ABS sounds like a nice insurance policy but the bike is a year older for what that's worth.
My first bike with ABS was a 94 BMW, second a 2004 Ducati and third the 2009 Moto Guzzi I have now. I would not be without it anymore. I have a long history with motorcycles, motocross, cross country trips, trials competition, totaling 46 years and pretty near 1/4 million miles on the road. In those 46 years I have had motorcycle magazines coming steadily nearly every month, usually reading them cover to cover. I attended AMI in the fall of 1975 and worked in a couple of motorcycle shops professionally. I do all my own service work, and built a chopper in the late 70's. I saw demos when BMW first introduced ABS in 1988 at Americade and was convinced then it was a very good thing. It took a while for HD to get on board with it. I for one am glad they did, maybe now we won't hear the "I had to lay it down" to get stopped story as much anymore. My objective is not to offend anyone, I hope I have not. I also realize my opinion and .50 cents won't get you a cup of coffee most places, which clearly shows what my opinion is worth.
Stay safe, John
PS If the Low Rider was not offered with ABS, I would not even consider it.

Reason: After thought.
Well the weather sucked this morning so I decided to install the SE Nightstick w/5 disks and the open end cap...I was figuring no more than an hour job taking my time, I mean, it's just a slip on...three hours later I finished the job. Yea, I know, don't ask.
Definitely louder than the stock muffler, and I think I didn't lose any low-mid range torque. I rode 25 miles to get a feel for the exhaust and the new sound. The traffic SUCKS trying to ride on a Saturday afternoon in my area. I'm still runnin' the stock air filter and no tune so that's gonna be my next set up.
I've had the bike for three weeks(purchased 8-21) and as of today it has 800 miles on the odometer........................:icon_ banana:
You guys should buy the performance core baffle from Supertrapp for the Nightstick. The tone is much deeper and better sounding. The Nightstick does not have a baffle, it's a straight through design. Check out their website.
