You take very nice pics UrbanRunner. Keep us updated as you pile on the miles.

So far it seems all or most of the LR owners in this thread have not had any mechanical issues with their bikes.

What wind shield is that? Is it detachable? I like it.

Over the months, I have looked at a lot of other bikes. I posted threads on Sportster vs. Low Rider and Fat Bob vs. Low Rider. I have looked at bikes from BMW, Indian, Moto Guzzi, Star, Triumph, and Victory. I have been reading every motorcycle mag out there. Been on youtube for 1000s of hours.

I have done enough research to complete a doctoral dissertation. And my conclusion remains that the Low Rider will be my next bike. It has everything I want (dual discs, good clearance, adjustable bars, mid mount controls, a tach, great looks, low center of gravity, comfort, etc).

Will be selling my GSXR 600 in the spring and get myself a new HD LR. Will be my first HD. I would love to get the blue and white one but if the discounts on the 2014 models are in the $1500-2000 range (as one poster mentioned a page or two back), then I might perhaps take one in a different color.

See page one and two of this thread. I test rode a LR twice in May. Posted my comments and pics at the start of this thread.

As for how it handles, it handles very well for a cruiser.

I had never ridden a HD before and decided to hit a few Demo Days events. I was impressed with the LR.

I like everything about the LR except the lowered shocks. Styling wise, it is my favorite Harley. But I took a Fatboy out for a demo and I gotta say it felt so much more refined, particularly in city riding. On the road, both are silky smooth, but bobbling around between stoplights, the LR feels much less civilized. To some, that's probably a good thing. To me, I prefer the Fatboy.

Now if they could just make a Fatboy that looked like a LR and had the cornering clearance of a tourer, I could easily make up my mind.
