2014 Low Rider
NW Arkansas has excellent riding plus it is the middle of the country. We rode to Key West, southern Utah, Mojave Dessert, Yellowstone as well as other places from there.

Without a windshield always. With a windshield or a 3/4 helmet only on longer trips.

Anyway, decel popping isn't occasional. I get it every time I close the throttle. I am thinking it is running too lean?
I am thinking of trying the Nightrider Xied's to richen things up since the bike already has the stage 1 download.

Why don't you start by checking for an exhaust leak? You can do this very easily. I made a video about it which I'll link here.
What octane gas are you using? Lower octane equals more decel pop.

Thanks for the great video. I think the first thing I will do is make sure everything is tight on the exhaust. If everything is tight I will try the shop vac soapy water trick.
Even if I manage to figure out why the popping I am still leaning towards a set of XIED's to richen things up. I've read allot of good things about the XIED's and don't don't plan on any additional performance upgrades. I don't mind a drop in fuel economy and I'd rather have the bike run a richer,a little cooler.
If the bike didn't already have the stage 1 download I would probably go with some sort of tuner.
Thanks again.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
The bike has plenty of power and handles very well. My previous two bikes were HD Touring and it is so nice to get back into a lighter weight bike. I will say the touring bikes seemed a little more planted at speed but I am very happy to be back on a Dyna. I've always liked small sporty cars that handle and I think I feel the same way about motorcycles.
My only real complaint is the V&H exhaust. I can't understand why they are so popular. They are really good looking pipes but just too loud for me. I had Screaming Eagles on my 2004 Sportster and 2005 FXDI. I had Fuelmoto exhaust on my 2009 Street Glide and I don't remember any being as loud as the V&H's.
I plan to look into a set of the quiet baffles to see if that makes any difference.
Other than that I couldn't be happier with my new LR.
So far I scored an HD detachable windshield ($200), HD luggage rack ($50) and HD leather saddlebags ($125) used.
Next on my list is a Corbin or Mustang seat, a set of HD engine guards, when I can find them used at a good price, and a set of XIED's to richen up the mixture a bit.
FYI, I checked the nuts on the exhaust flange and they were not torqued to spec. I tightened them up and the decel popping is better but still there. I also tried the soapy water shop vac trick and I don't see any evidence of a leak.
If I am careful how i close the throttle I can minimize the popping too. So would that indicate the bike is running to lean?
I plan to head over to HD tomorrow to get some primary fluid and spark plugs and will be checking the plugs to see if they tell me anything.
