With a neighbour, I've just completed a 1,289 miles tour from Bilbao in Spain, through the Pyrenees and France, to Caen. It was a really good experience, not least when I dropped in to the Harley dealer in Limoges because of a brake light fault. They delayed their lunch break to diagnose the problem and replace the faulty part so we could be on our way within minutes. I'd assumed that the front brake light switch was sticking, but it turned out that the rear brake light switch had failed. Initially I'd noticed the security light coming on, and assumed that my fob battery would soon need changing. Then my buddy noticed that the rear light and brake light weren't coming on. I had a replacement bulb, but when I fitted it the brake light came on permanently. When the switch was replaced, the security light went out and the brake light worked properly. Curious if anyone on this thread has run the Ness Big Brake Kit on their FXDL. If so, how do you like it?
I'm considering it for my next project (after the current powder coat and gauge relo project!). Almost every review of the Big Brake Kit is very good--except for a couple I stumbled across by Low Rider S owners who had bad experiences. Not sure if I should expect any different for an FXDL application.
