Went and bought some new helmets yesterday. Wife was well overdue for one and I was kind of needing one. She picked out a nice Icon and I picked up an AGV. Can't wait to get on the bike and try them out. We did very little riding last year as she was pregnant for the spring/summer and then in the fall we had new house and new baby so we are hoping we can get some decent riding in together this year.
Congrads. Always nice getting a new helmet. I had always gone with Shoei since 1982 to 2015. Currently have an HJC.
Thank you! I couldn't believe the difference in performance & sound from going to the Bassani from the VH Shortshots
The shortshots are popular because they are cheap, loud, and look decent with the right setup, but they are one of the worst performing pipes you can buy, and although they are loud the tone of them isn't very good. I did add quiet baffles to mine which helped a lot but once I went to the pro pipe I would never go back.
Now I'm just trying to decide if I want to commit to some mids or wait until I find the further forward mids. I like my forwards for cruising but would prefer something that puts my feet back for spirited riding. Gonna need to do the whole swap and take apart the primary...

Here's a vid I made when I installed the Reduced Reach conversion kit on my forwards. Best mod I ever did.

Everyone is different but for me, the further forward mids are 10X better than mids. Doesn't seem like it would make much of a difference but it really does. I run the factory further forward mids plus highway pegs and like the versatility of being able to move my feet between the 2.

I wouldn't give up my mid-mounts for anything. I do a lot of mountain riding, on very curvy roads, and for me there is no substitute...
Spent most of the day looking for new tires. Currently on my third set of Michelin Scorchers. Originals lasted 14K. Second set lasted to 28K. About to hit 42K at it is time to get new tires. Spent way too much time trying to find the Michelins and could not find a single place that had a complete set. The ones I did find were damn pricey. So I instead went with Metzler ME888s. Got them on Amazon with free shipping and was able to redeem $131 in rewards dollars that just about paid for the front tire. Got the rear for $242.05 OTD. Got the front for $144 minus the $131 for $13 OTD.
