Agreed. While the new softail platform is fantastic in it's own right, its just a way different bike than the dyna, having ridden several I don't feel like it has the same soul if that makes sense. I dont feel any of the dyna names should have been carried over into the softail platform but that's just me.
The Low Rider name has been on the FX, FXR, Dyna, and now Softail platform. It is not a Dyna only name.
Me either. How can it be a LR when it only has one front disc brake?
My '06 LR had only one front disc brake, but that was also a 88TC. When they reintroduced the Dyna with a 103TC and dual front discs, I knew I had to have one...the only thing I would do different would be the speedo on the tank and a Tach mounted up on the handlebars for easy viewing...I don't like both the speedo and tach, where I have to look way down to see them. I don't care about the speed. I know I'm speeding, lol. I want the tach up high...
When I heard they were going to stop making the dyna line, I stuck away a 2015 lowrider, purchased new 2017 has 25 miles. I know that's crazy.
Actually, it's not...just regularly move it around to avoid flat spots, check tire pressures, use a tender and fuel stabilizer AND occasionally ride it...
Believe you have the oldest LR in this thread and forum. I thought about getting one around that time but decided to wait to 2015. Wish I would have gotten mine a little sooner. My GSXR 600 was fun but not comfortable.

Would be even better to mount speedo and tach on the handle bars. There is no reason to mount them on the tank as far as I am concerned. Put them where they can be easily seen.

Yep, dumbest thing I've ever seen on a motorcycle. Turn signal indicators down there too. How about the clock, odometers, gear indicator, down in the speedo as well?
